SPONSOR GESA LUECKER

Gesa Lücker, who was born in Braunschweig, has been playing the piano since she was a child. She studied at Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media under Martin Dörrie and Matti Raekallio, and attended courses taught by Arie Vardi, Fabio Bidini and Jerome Rose. Having won several national and international competitions, she has also received awards from the Bruno Frey Foundation and the Chopin Society of Hanover.

Lücker regularly performs at highly prestigious venues (Yamaha Hall and Carnegie Hall/Weill Recital Hall in New York, grand broadcasting hall at NDR Hanover, Wigmore Hall in London and He Luting Hall in Shanghai) all over Germany and abroad (Europe, China, USA). She has also given performances, talks and masterclasses in Shanghai (Oriental Arts Center), Suzhou (Culture and Arts Center), Nanjing (Nanjing Arts Center) and Beijing (Tsinghua University, China Conservatory of Music), and regularly takes part in events in New York organized by the International Keyboard Institute and Festival. As a chamber musician, she performs with Tanja Becker-Bender, Christoph Ess and Sayaka Schmuck, not to mention numerous soloists from Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam’s Philharmonisch Orkest and Düsseldorfer Symphoniker. She has been teaching the piano at Cologne University of Music and Dance since October 2010 and several of her pupils have already won national and international competitions. The magazine Audiophil described her CD featuring solo piano pieces by Mozart and Prokofiev, which was released on the label Genuin in 2009, as “musically outstanding”.
