Le pianiste canadien JJ Jun Li Bui a gagné, à l’âge de 17 ans, le 6ème prix du Concours International Frédéric Chopin pour Piano. Il était le plus jeune participant de la compétition.
Il a également gagné des prix dans divers concours comme le 2ème Concours International Chopin pour Jeunes Pianistes en 2019, le Concours International Junior pour Piano Van Cliburn en 2019, le Concours International pour Piano de Hanoï en 2018 et le Concours International pour Piano Aarthus en 2017.
JJ a régulièrement joué des récitals en Amérique du Nord, en Europe et en Asie. Il a aussi joué avec différents orchestres dont l’Orchestre Philharmonique National de Varsovie, l’Orchestre Symphonique Guiyang de Chine, l’Orchestre Symphonique Central du Conservatoire de Musique de Chine, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Hanoï, l’Orchestre Kindred Spririts et l’Orchestre de Chambre du Conservatoire Royal de l’Académie de Musique. JJ Jun Li Bui est programmé pour jouer dans plusieurs concerts organisés au Japon, en Pologne, aux USA et en Allemagne.
JJ a été l’élève de Michael Berkovsky et de Wang Li à l’Académie Phil et Eli Taylor du Conservatoire Royal de Musique. Il poursuit actuellement son bachelier au Conservatoire de Musique Oberlin en suivant les cours du professeur Dang Thai Son.
Canadian-born pianist JJ Jun Li Bui won the 6th prize at the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition at the age of 17, the youngest competitor of the competition.
He has also won prizes in competitions such as the 2nd Beijing International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2019), the Van Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition (2019), the Hanoi International Piano Competition (2018), and the Aarhus International Piano Competition (2017).
JJ has frequently performed recitals in North America and has made appearances in Europe and Asia. He has also played with orchestras such as the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, the China Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, the China Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kindred Spirits Orchestra, and the Royal Conservatory of Music Academy Chamber Orchestra. Upcoming highlights include concerts in Japan, Poland, the United States, and Germany.
JJ has previously studied at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy of the Royal Conservatory of Music, under Michael Berkovsky and Wang Li. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree through the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Professor Dang Thai Son.
